CAROL HERNANDEZ, LCSW

I'm Carol Hernandez, I am a therapist, a mother, a Spanish speaker, and a Latina woman who is connected to her culture and community. I value connection and appreciate the diverse intersections of identity that shape us all. I bring empathy, warmth, and a bit of directness to our work together! I'm committed in helping clients find their sense of belonging and navigate life's challenges, drawing from my own experiences with mental health.

Approach and Experience

If you're navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, or a major life transition, you're in the right place! If part of your story includes moving between cultures or communities that haven't always fully seen you, this is your place to be seen. I specialize in working with Latinos and other black and brown individuals, first and second-generation individuals, and immigrants, many of whom are carrying more than they let on. I welcome clients from all backgrounds who are looking for a grounded, culturally attuned therapist. I also provide bilingual, trauma-informed immigration evaluations for hardship waivers, VAWA, asylum, and U/T Visa cases.

My specialty is complex trauma and dissociation. I have experience working with survivors of sexual assault, adults with ADHD, and clients living with HIV. Together, we learn how to manage your symptoms and look at how your experiences shape how you see yourself. Then, from a strengths-based perspective, we rebuild from using parts work, somatic awareness, and a decolonizing lens.

You don't have to carry this alone, or have it all figured out to begin therapy. If you're feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or just not like yourself, there's a space here for you. Our work together will be free of judgment and shame. I'd be honored to walk alongside you as you heal, grow, and find your way forward.
